these places far away yet not so far
a town a hundred miles yet strangely near
the same type of cars
the same kinds of peers
there’s nothing quite so different yet so alike
familarity a hundred miles away
this place that we’ve reached within a day

and as these days go by
unknowingly minutes fly
each day seems like an hour away
weeks that pass as if a day
did i want those moments to stay
was achieving this life what i prayed?
it doesn’t matter really, each way
still this life isn’t badly portrayed
